I am writing with my concerns about the implementation of the Two-Tier Health Care system in Alberta.
I am a senior woman who has lived in Alberta my entire life, so far. I say so far because if something is not done to enforce the Canada Health Act in Alberta, I may have to consider moving to a different province in Canada that
has stayed true to the Canada Health Act.
I am very concerned as I live alone and on pensions only. I have little to no extra money month to month. If I needed to see a doctor, or needed tests, treatments, or surgery, I will not have the money to cover any of it.
It is extremely scary at this stage of my life as I never even considered I would have to encounter a situation like this. The even scarier part is that if I can't pay, it is very likely I will die a lot sooner than anticipated from no medical services! I
do not like that thought. Plus, I will not be the only one in this situation.
As it is now, in Alberta, we are very short staffed of doctors, nurses, ambulances with horrific wait times in emergency departments, delayed ambulance services. People are dying in emergency waiting rooms, dying waiting for
ambulance. It is a horror story going on in Alberta. This is all due to Danielle Smith and the UCP party. The dismantling of our health care system to bring in the two-tier health system.
I implore the Federal government to enforce the Canada Health Act in Alberta. If not, there will be many more untimely deaths.
Thank you for your consideration.
