The last two weeks has been an incredible rollercoaster for Public Health Inspectors, from the short notice promise of layoffs, notice of wage cuts, loss in benefits, seniority hours, even just a few days ago hearing all temporary
positions would be cut without severance or transition. To finally a promise directly from the premiere to keep us whole and apart from the GOA.
If it wasn't for the advocacy of tens of thousands of Albertans posting online, writing letters to their MLAs and bringing this the forefront there is no doubt in my mind my rural community would have lost its coverage, and me
my job.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of the overwhelming support from reddit and my operators at home. When our union failed to stand up for us, you did, for that I'll be forever in your debt.
