In April 2026 I had an abnormal FIT lab result. I consulted with my family doctor and she offered me an option to pay for a CT scan ($795.00 base price) to jump the queue. If the CT scan showed evidence of an abnormality, then
a colonoscopy would be required. I was told I would get in faster by going the pay for service route. In the meantime I was contacted by the Foothills outpatient colonoscopy clinic and I attended there in June. I am not a candidate for the outpatient clinic
as I am in a clinic trial for pulmonary hypertension and I take a low oxygen level therapy as well. I need to be seen in a hospital setting. My pulmonary doctor requested that I be seen at the Peter Lougheed. I was put on an 'urgent' list. Now it is October
and I haven't been seen. If it is something serious, early detection as we all know, is best. I am a 13 year stem cell transplant survivor. I am in my 60s, a tax payer, and I work three days a week from home. I am being penalized because I have a disability.
I am concerned about my situation. Thank you.
